In 2001 Norfolk Wire & Electronics was reborn. Starting with new store openings in Greenville, SC, Virginia Beach and Richmond, VA, the rebirth had begun.
Ron Hurley, Ted Watson, Dennis Ridgeway, Mike Davis, Bret Osborne took their old formula of “our best product is service” and put it into action building new customers and reviving old relationships. This was the foundation upon which the company would grow and prosper.
In early 2003 the company opened its fourth location in Raleigh, NC. Having a presence in the heart of North Carolina was a strategic move that has worked well for the company. Soon thereafter, Norfolk Wire & Electronics opened its fifth operation, Servmart, located at the Norfolk Naval Operations Base. The company has had a rich tradition of serving the military’s needs throughout the Southeast.
In a slightly different direction, in 2005 the company purchased Cain Electronics located in Norfolk, VA. This MRO electronics business broadened the company’s product offerings and expanded the customer base.
Having already had great success in Greenville, SC, in April 2006 Ron Joye opened the company’s eighth operation in Charleston, SC. This location serves the southern part of the state in addition to customers in Georgia and Florida.
Roanoke, VA became the ninth location, which opened in June 2007. Roanoke serves the western part of the state, the northern valley, and West Virginia.
In November 2007, the company acquired Electronic Distributing, Inc. from Bill Turner. The company is located in downtown Winston-Salem, NC and sells electronic components and supplies very similar to the Cain operation in Norfolk, VA. The company has expanded its product offerings into data networking, Cat 5 and 6 and other related products.
In March 2008, Norfolk Wire & Electronics acquired Priest Electronics and merged it into the Cain operation. The company now has nine locations covering the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
Through 2009 Norfolk Wire has continued to expand its presence and excellent customer service through sales representatives covering NC and northern Virginia.
